After years of making and gifting toffee around Christmas, I followed my heart - and the relentless requests of friends and family - and began churning out my "Christmas Crack" to sell year-round.
And boy, did it take off!
It was January 2014, and from the sale of that very first small batch, I realized the incredible melt-in-your-mouth toffee experience I created had the power to brighten anyone's day with a single bite.
When you purchase or receive our toffee, what you get is a moment of happiness. And the result? You walk away feeling HAPPY and LOVED!
To this day, we make wildtoad toffee in small batches, selecting from only the finest ingredients:
Pure, creamy REAL butter,
Imperial Pure Cane Sugar,
and a thin layer of GUITTARD chocolate - just thick enough to hold the TEXAS pecans.

What does that look like?
It's the surprise on your face when you sample our toffee for the first time.
It's our commitment to give "women of a certain age" - who have so much to offer - a fun place to work when other companies won’t give them a second glance.
It's the "crazy booth" at trade shows when we have a blast giving you a hard time and enjoy when you return the favor.
It's razzing you for buying a "stupid size" bag that'll be gone before you reach the end of the aisle (at trade shows) or the end of the day (when shipped) and say, "I'm so stupid, why didn't I buy a larger bag?"
It's seeing you get misty-eyed after biting into a piece of wildtoad toffee because you never thought you'd ever taste your mama's toffee again.
It's getting to hear you share all your special memories surrounding toffee - the special people who made it for you or the places you visited where you tasted it.
A question I get asked constantly is, "Where in the world did you get the name wildtoad?"
Funny story. (Or at least I think it is.)
You know how it's super easy to come up with ideas or names until you actually need them. Yep, that's what happened - initially.
After trying on all sorts of different names, I kept returning to "wildtoad toffee." It felt right, and this is why:
Wild = Of course, this has nothing to do with me personally! (heh heh) We offer our signature animal print ribbon as a packaging option.
Toad = My childhood. As a proud native of Fort Worth in the great state of Texas, I wanted a name that reflected my heritage. As a child, I played with "horny toads" (Get your mind out of the gutter; we're talking about toads with horns, people.)
I wasn't crazy enough to name my business “wild horny toad toffee," so that's how I settled on “wildtoad toffee."
Over time, "the toad" (aka w.t.) developed a sort of sarcastic, smart-alecky personality of his own. He loves to bring a smile to your face - especially for those of you who think you "hate" toffee - and he's constantly thankful for all the blessings bestowed on us by the Lord and all y'all.
We're pretty confident if you give us a chance, we can make a "toadhead" out of you too!
